Batman: Return to Arkham is an upgraded re-release of 2009's Batman: Arkham Asylum and 2011's Batman: Arkham City for the Playstation 4 and Xbox One. The ports were developed by Virtuous, and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, set for release on July 29, 2016.
The games are moved from the Unreal 3 Engine over to Unreal 4, allowing fixes for common UE3 problems such as texture pop-in that plagued the original releases. The entire visual presentation has been overhauled, with new character models, new lighting, improved environments and additional shaders.
Additionally, all the DLC released for the titles is included alongside this release, including Arkham Asylum's bonus challenge maps and the previously Playstation 3-exclusive Joker playable character, and Arkham City's pre-order challenge campaigns, playable Robin and Nightwing characters, the Catwoman story expansion, and the Harley Quinn's Revenge story pack.
