Deadpool is an upcoming character action game developed by High Moon Studios and published by Activision, based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. The game is currently slated for a release on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles, as well as a digital PC release on Steam with a slated release date of June 25, 2013. In order to maintain consistency in tone with the comics, High Moon worked in conjunction with divisive author Daniel Way, with Nolan North reprising the role of the lead character.

GameplayEdit

Deadpool is a third-person action game, balancing sword and melee weapon focused combat with gunplay. Deadpool uses his swords and handguns as his default weapons, and unlocks new combos for them over time, but can make use of nontraditional weaponry such as sledgehammers and rifles as well. There is an in-depth dismemberment mechanic built into the combat as well, allowing players to utilize attacks to sever an enemy's limb or decapitate them. Similarly, Deadpool himself can be dismembered, with players having the option to reattach the limbs after they fall off or simply allow them to regrow over time due to the character's accelerated healing factor. Other abilities in Deadpool's arsenal include a short-range teleport, and a stealth system allowing for cinematic, slow-motion stealth kills.
