Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is an HD Remaster of Final Fantasy XII, based on the Japanese only re-release Final Fantasy XII: International Zodiac Edition, published by Square Enix in 2017. Like Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster, all of the original models, textures and 2D assets have received a bump in quality for the HD generation, and the music has been rerecorded with a full symphony.
Additionally, The Zodiac Age allows players to finally hear the original audio for the game without the crippling compression that it suffered to keep it under size constraints for the Playstation 2 release. Players will be able to switch between English and Japanese audio tracks at will, as well as swap between the original and the rerecorded sound track. New features include an auto-save mode to help ease the punishing save system of the original game, and a turbo mode, to help with some of the more tedious grinding aspects of the game.
