Two epic adventures of conquest, destiny and vengeance return!
— Tagline

The God of War Collection was the first of the Playstation HD Collections made to combine multiple classic games on to one disk with HD graphics, locked framerate, trophies and at a discounted price. The God of War Collection features God of War and God of War 2 remastered in 720p resolution, locked 60 fps, two full trophy lists and was released for $39.99. The ports were handled by Bluepoint Games, while Sony Santa Monica, the original developers, were in the final stages of the creation of God of War III. The Collection was released on November 17, 2009 in order to help build anticipation for the upcoming third installment.

The original release of the game included a special voucher that allowed players to download the early E3 2009 demo for God of War III before it was released to the general public. SCE Santa Monica Studio ran a sweepstakes in November 2009 for the release of God of War Collection. The grand prize was an autographed "Gold" disc, exclusive artwork created and signed by a God of War team member, a Limited Edition Kratos T-shirt, and a limited edition 10 inches (25 cm) figurine of Kratos. First place prize was a copy of God of War Collection signed by the Development Team. Winners were announced in December 2009.

A Vita port was announced alongside The Sly Collection on the Playstation Blog for a release on May 6, 2014.

The Collection includes-

  • God of War (HD Remaster)
  • God of War II (HD Remaster)
  • God of War III E3 2009 Demo
