Your universe is not alone. It is but one of infinite worlds- each an altered version of the others. From the beginning of time, they have existed apart. This is the day they collide.
— Reveal Trailer

Infinite Crisis was a free-to-play MOBA game developed by Turbine, Inc. creators of the acclaimed MMOs The Lord of the Rings Online and Dungeons & Dragons Online, among others. Infinite Crisis draws on the vast roster of characters from the world famous DC Library, and reenvisions them in a slew of alternate worlds and timelines to create new versions as playable characters. The game entered open beta in 2013, which ran for two years until the game's official launch on March 26, 2015.

The game remained active for slightly less than six months- during which it failed to live up to Warner Brothers expectations as a viable competitive alternative to League of Legends or Dota 2, and the game was officially shut down. On August 14, 2015, the game servers were shut down for the last time.

GameplayEdit

Infinite Crisis is built around the same basic mechanics as all MOBAs, featuring lanes and hero-specific combat focused on various playable "Champions", each with their own varying stats and unique abilities, to defeat enemy teams. The game boasts to possess various streamlined RPG mechanics, but outside of the traditional MOBA leveling up mid-game system, it is unclear what this may mean for the gameplay. Players will also be able to interact more deeply with the maps than in most games of the genre- strong characters can lift and throw cars and debris from the environment, and other characters can chart new and unexpected paths to find new ways to attack the enemy team. Another unique aspect to Infinite Crisis is the Disaster System- as the game is played, the map is changed by various disasters that force players to change up their strategies.

StoryEdit

Unlike most games in the genre, Turbine claims to be giving Infinite Crisis a single player story, "crafted in collaboration with DC Entertainment", where the player must utilize characters from across multiple universes to discover and overcome the mysterious being that threatens the entire multiverse.
