— Jak

Jak is a young man suddenly thrust into multiple adventures to save the world. In the original game; Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, he was a silent protagonist, who let his actions speak louder than his words, but certainly not louder than his best friend Daxter, who he inadvertently turned into an Ottsel when he was pushed into a pit of Dark Eco. Jak was a bit of a troublemaker, along with Daxter, as implied by their guardian Samos. Extremely little is said about Jak's parents, only shown that they are not present in his life it seems. Samos acts as a father figure to Jak as he goes on missions across the world to eventually save it from Dark Eco. Later in Jak II, after having gone through two years of Dark Eco torture, Jak not only grew much bigger size-wise, he matured greatly, and began to speak to other people instead of letting the others talk. He became more of an anti-hero at this point, and gained the ability to turn into Dark Jak, a transformation that changes his skin color to grey and makes his nails turn to claws. Dark Eco lightning also crackles off of him, and he becomes much more aggressive. This also in turn affects Jak's regular personality, making him much more hostile and aggressive than previously. However, he still retains a drive to protect the ones he cares about and is still a good person. Later on, he gains the ability to turn in Light Jak. Like the name implies, the transformation makes his entire body glow blue, and wings to grow out of his back. In this state, Jak is much more passive, and has the ability to slow down time and make a shield to protect himself. Because of this ability, it offsets the personality traits that Dark Jak had given him, and balances the two.

Jak and Daxter: The Precursor LegacyEdit

As with many of fate's mysteries, it begins with but a small act... of disobedience.
