The Ratchet and Clank Collection is one of the first three games in the Playstation Collections movement, alongside the God of War Saga and the inFAMOUS Collection, released on August 28th, 2012. Ratchet and Clank Collection was originally released outside of the North America Region as a traditional HD Collection, without the additional trappings of the Playstation Collection logo. While a little late to come out, the American release of the Collection was promised to include additional content from the European and Japanese releases, at first heavily implied to be Ratchet: Deadlocked HD, instead ended up being the bonus content on the Collection Voucher.
The games included in the HD Collection are based on the European Greatest Hits versions of the individual games, which means there are a few minor differences between the original releases of the games and the Collection. Among them include the removal of multiple glitches and exploits that enable the player to obtain an infinite amount of bolts, most likely to prevent cheating the newly implemented Trophy system, added on to the older games for the remastered collection.
The Ratchet and Clank Collection includes the following content:
- Ratchet & Clank (HD Remaster)
- Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando (HD Remaster)
- Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal (HD Remaster)
- Ratchet & Clank: 10 Year Anniversary PSN Avatar
- Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time exclusive early demo
